Once more working with the newly acquired D700 and the dauntless 85mm, semi testing the gear at night for night shots. The set below is a small pick from a casual; more improvised than planned; is a mish-mash of shots in the house and on the streets of my neighbourhood.
The set in on this page can be kind of divided into two general groups. “Home” and “Streets“.
I think these few shots already show amply, the incredible facility and marvellous quality of the legendary Nikon D700 DSLR. Also I have to mention the wonder that is the line of Nikkor prime lenses. I cannot stress enough how much this camera’s images and physical attributes made me fall in love again with photography after the shocking disappointment of the disappearance of film. The D700 uniquely produces what, for want of a better phrase, is most film-like digital camera ever.
A Bit of Technical Info
Everything was shot with minimal fuss in technical terms, just a flat “correct” meter reading, with the interior shots using various ISO settings from 320 to 1000. The outdoor shots were shot at 400 in daylight and 1000 at night. All hand-held and shot with the same lens, the incredible Nikkor 85mm ƒ/1.8 AF-D. Mostly shot at ƒ/1.8.
