As you may have noticed from elsewhere on this site, I have been doing a long running project with my wife we call PhotoWalks. In 2024 while walking in a massive park in Athens, one we had never visited before, I was attracted by a building bathed in a contrasty sunlight that immediately reminded me of the paintings of De Chirico. From there it was a short step to start thinking about how the landscape we were in would be photographed by various well known painters of the modern school.
